Sash Stand
This jig is perfect for holding window sashes when painting, planing, or other works needs to be done.
Made in a few minutes from some 2×4 scrap and a piece of plywood, this jig is perfect for holding window sashes for painting, planing, or whatever else needs to be done. First, get three pieces of 2×4 about 12 in. long and cut one in half at an angle, creating two wedges. Next, screw one full 2×4 and one of the wedges to a piece of 3/4-in. plywood. Finally, screw the other full 2×4 to the bottom of the jig as a base for clamping or screwing the jig to a bench. Place the sash between the wedge and 2×4, then drop in the sliding wedge to anchor it.
