Get a Grip

This vacuum lifter handles bulky materials and helps with tasks like placing windows, setting millwork, and hanging doors.

By Stefan Straka Issue 333 - August/September 2025

I recently picked up a pair of Grabo Pro Lifters—handheld, battery-operated, vacuum-assisted lifting tools with an impressive lifting capacity of 375 lb. each. Along with their place in the shop, I use the Grabo Pro Lifters on the job site for installing millwork, setting windows and doors, and moving appliances. I’ve even found myself using one as an extra hand for tasks like holding up one side of a level.

To save on the battery, the motor stops running once the maximum pressure is reached, but it will kick back on if pressure loss is detected. A digital readout shows how much the tool can lift safely given the current suction level.

Power in Your Palm: This battery-powered, vacuum-assisted lifter grips and lifts up to 375 lb. with auto-adjusting suction and a digital load readout, making it useful for everything from hauling stone panels to installing heavy doors.

The unit has four integrated anchor points that allow you to attach accessories like a handle for moving pavers without bending over, rails for setting cabinets, and other third-party specialized attachments.

At around $300 with two batteries and a canvas carry case, the Grabo Pro Lifter can be a worthwhile investment. I expect you will find uses for it well outside of your core activities. Find out more or buy one at grabo.com.
