Ridgid Framing Nailers Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard
Find out if your framing nailer is part of this nationwide recall.
Two models of Ridgid framing nailers have been recalled due to laceration hazard; the R09894 18V Brushless 21-Degree Framing Nailer and the R09895 18V Brushless 30-Degree Framing Nailer. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, “The dual action engagement system on the nailers can malfunction and involuntarily discharge a nail by pulling the trigger alone, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.”
The press release explains, “The nailer should require both the work piece contact element (nose-piece) to be depressed and the trigger to be pulled at the same time in order to discharge a nail.” The affected units were available for purchase in stores and online at Home Depot and Direct Tools Factory Outlet from July 2021 through May 2025.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled nailers and visit powertools.ridgid.com/recall for further instructions. Check here to see if your nailer is part of the current recall. Please note: the model and serial number can be found on the data label that is located on the underside of the tool.
