Insulation Scrap Dispenser
Cut a hole in the packaging and pull from the center to get just the insulation you need without unrolling the whole bundle.
I recently needed just a few feet of fiberglass insulation, and I didn’t have any scraps on hand. Rather than opening a new roll and dealing with the hassles of storage and transport, I left the roll intact and used a utility knife to cut a hole in the center of the packaging. I then pulled out pieces from the middle of the roll with a pair of long-handle needle-nose pliers.
Eventually I had a hole large enough to just grab onto the kraft-paper backing and pull out what I needed from the center of the tight bundle. It was sort of like using one of those wet-wipe dispensers. Although it took a little effort for me to get the feed started, it worked well once I did.
